در بیست و چهارمین نشست شورای حقوق بشر سازمان ملل متحد، انجمن پیشگیری از آسیبهای اجتماعی بیانیهای را در خصوص نقض حقوق کودکان در سرزمینهای اشغالی منتشر کرد که توسط نماینده انجمن در صحن شورا قرائت شد. ترجمه فارسی این بیانیه به شرح ذیل است:
So far, Israel activities in occupied Arab territories have failed to comply with the convention of the rights of the child (CRC) to which it is a State Party. Children's right's violations have been going on for years now, especially in the occupied West Bank and blockaded Gaza Strip. The violations include: detention, arrests and attacks on children; the right to life; the right to health; the right to education; the right to have their birth registered and the right to have access to safe drinking water.
At the end of May 2013 Israel had 236 children, in its prisons. Palestinian children arrested by (Israeli) military and police are systematically subject to degrading treatment, and often to acts of torture, are interrogated in Hebrew, a language they did not understand, and sign confessions in Hebrew in order to be released. Moreover, there are serious concerns about the continuous use of arrested Palestinian children as human shields and informants, 14 of such cases have been reported between January 2010 and March 2013 alone.
Israeli soldiers have used Palestinian children to enter potentially dangerous buildings, forced them to stand in front of military vehicles to deter stone-throwing, and search bags suspected of containing explosives.
Israel also violates Palestinian children's right to life: according to the statistics, within the past decade, one Palestinian child has been killed by Israel every three days.
The fact that Isreal is allowed to go on with children's right violations with impunity, undermines CRC and proves Israel's lack of respect for human rights.
Condemning the violation of children's rights, we believes that more effective mechanisms must be created at the international level to prevent the violation of the rights of the Palestinian children, and to force Israel to observe international commitments.
